One of the issues many therapists face when they are considering leaving managed care systems for private practice<\/a> is whether their clients will be able to afford their services.<\/p>\n

No therapist wants to put their fees in front of their clients\u2019 care, nor do they wish to be forced to diagnosis an issue which can be claimed by an insurance company.<\/p>\n

However, there are many positive reasons why you should consider moving to private practice, and your clients\u2019 well-being is right on top of the list.<\/p>\n

You Will Have More Time and Flexibility<\/h2>\n

If you are part of a managed care system you may find you are forced to see as many clients as possible to earn enough money to survive.<\/p>\n

You will have greater autonomy about who you treat, and will be able to hone into a specific group. There will also be less paperwork.<\/p>\n

Your clients will benefit from the extra time you can afford to give them.<\/p>\n

And, if you do find some of your clients can\u2019t afford your services you can always offer a reduction in fees.<\/p>\n
